so i either haven't found one or don't know how to read the diagrams...but i'm looking to run my start button as well as my kick start...i know, not the cool way...
can anyone tell me what i need to do to get that hooked up?

you need the starter solenoid and all the heavy duty power and ground cables.
Your ground from the battery, and the red wires from the bat to the solenoid and from the solenoid to the starter are all cables, not wire. The starter itself grounds through the bolts, there isn't actually a black ground coming from the starter.
here's a diagram I just finished w/ a starter. Instead of using a start button, I'm using an iggy switch with a start setting.
3rd down on this page shows one using a start button instead of an iggy switch

| So with that diagram, will I actualy need a switch as well or if i have an ignition that turns past a start position will it turn over like a car? I know nothing about electric |

i would think that if you have an ignition that turns past 'on' to a 'start' position and then goes back to basic on position then you should be good. in the start position it would make the contact as a button would. but i have no idea, so please disregard this post.  _________________ t-minus whenever it feels right. |
