I just got back from the first annual Crossroads Biker Rally in Waterbury Vt. It was a 3 day event, and I sadly missed the first day because I was working on my Ironhead, but I was there for Sat, and today. (it all ended around noon)
First I want to say just how much fun it was, I met a lot of really good people. I was a little surprised at how many people trailered their bikes to the event, and how few vintage bikes there were. (I was one of 3 vintage bikes that where daily riders) as a result, my bike got a lot of attention, despite my bike looking like its been beat with an ugly stick :laugh
Here are some pictures from the event
My bike, which is bigger then my tent...
My trophy for winning the Plank Race.
An old 45 with side car that showed up for part of Sat
another oldie
One of the contestants in the Burn Out contest
This guy melted the gasket around his oil filter, and then the oil caught fire! he won the contest.
This is a project a local shop is working on
a cool little VW buss
all in all it was a great weekend, the heat was easily beat by a quick dip in the river just behind the rally, a friend of mine came down and he and I did a 100 mile trip threw the mountains with another group of riders. I cant wait to go to another rally, and I cant wait for next year when this one will happen again, and hopefully be bigger the second time around! _________________ If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.

They where raffling off a kikker at the rally, I no longer have the kikker ether, I traded it for the Ironhead that I had at the rally. _________________ If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.

Great pics! Congrats on the plank run. That little VW van is almost identical to one sitting in a guy's garage in Swanton, east of my hometown near Toledo. It sat on a roof of a local restaurant for many years. The guy bought it, changed the oil, put in fresh gas and a new battery, and it fired right up. Hard to kill old VW's...
